Call for Papers for Special Session “Multilingual Speech Processing”
Introduction
- Oriental languages involve some common properties as well as sufficient diversity in acoustic, phonetic, lexical and linguistic aspects, leading to interesting questions such as which languages share more and which languages are more discriminant, and how the commonality and diversity can be used to assist speech processing research. This special session focuses on multilingual speech processing for oriental languages, including but not limited to the following topics:
- Multilingual phonetic and phonological analysis
- Multilingual speech recognition
- Multilingual speaker recognition
- Multilingual speech synthesis
- Multilingual language understanding
- To assist the research on multilingual speech processing, the special session offers a multilingual speech database AP16-OL7 (provided by Speechocean (http://www.speechocean.com)) that involves 7 languages, 80h of speech data in total, as well as the associated resources. Participants to the special session can apply for AP16-OL7 for free if they need data to evaluate their research.
Important date
- June 06 AP16-OL7 training/dev data release
- June 30 Paper submission deadline
- Aug. 31 Paper acceptance notification
